Centre Co., PA (WJAC) — Authorities in Centre County say a Boalsburg man is behind bars following a brief police chase over the weekend.
According to the affidavit, police say the chase began as officers were responding late Friday night to a report of shots fired inside a residence along West Crestview Ave.
Police say as officers were responding to the scene, a blue Ford Mustang began to flee at a high-rate of speed.
HARRISBURG, PA. (WOLF) — Danelo Cavalcante, the convicted murderer caught on surveillance footage escaping from the Chester County Prison, is facing more charges for theft committed while he was on the run, according to authorities.

According to Pennsylvania Attorney General Michelle Henry, Cavalcante stole items to help him change his appearance, a getaway vehicle, and a rifle with ammunition.
(TND) — The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety and Consumer Reports have new lists of safe, affordable vehicles for teenage drivers.
The updates Wednesday include 58 used models that cost between $5,800 and $19,900, along with nearly two dozen new models.
IIHS Research Scientist Rebecca Weast said cost was a big factor in their list.
“We don't want to put this list out and have people’s takeaway be that they are priced out of being safe,” she said.
SOMERSET COUNTY, Pa. (WJAC) — It was a coincidence that the Somerset County Department of Emergency Services hosted a severe weather drill on the same day heavy snow fell for the first time this season.
Tuesday morning, first responders and safety officials in Somerset County gathered to practice how they'd respond to a winter weather-related emergency.

State College, PA (WJAC) — A billing dispute between State College Borough and the Centre region's main sewage authority is now a court suit with the authority claiming that the borough owes hundreds of thousands of dollars.
The lawsuit stems from action taken by the University Area Joint Authority, which provides wastewater treatment for most of the Centre County region.
Late last year, the authority approved a higher rate to process the borough's sewage.
