PC Friars guard Devin Carter declaring for NBA Draft

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WJAR) — Friars guard Devin Carter announced on social media Wednesday that he will forego his senior season at Providence College and enter the 2024 NBA Draft. Carter had an impressive junior season in Providence, culminating in Big East Player of the Year honors. Carter averaged 19.4 points, 8.6 rebounds and 3. 6 assists per game. He also led the conference in scoring. The NBA Draft begins June 26 at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.

Penn Highlands implements web cameras at NICU unit

DuBois, PA — According to Suzanne McCullough, Director of Penn Highland's Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, they implemented a NICVIEW web camera to provide 24/7 access for family members to see their newborns. She said the parents receive a log in for the online portal to see their babies virtually anytime, anywhere. McCullough said the cameras have been up and running for about a week now. Since then, she said they've connected with family members and friends from at least six different states.

Wolf signs law to yank toll violators' vehicle registrations

HARRISBURG, Pa. (AP) — A measure to help the Pennsylvania Turnpike recover more unpaid tolls was signed into law Thursday, legislation that could trigger the suspension of thousands of vehicle registrations early next year. Gov. Tom Wolf gave final approval to legislation aimed at getting owners or operators of some 25,000 vehicles to pay their overdue bills for turnpike travel. After the law takes effect in two months, the process will start with the Turnpike Commission notifying registrants they are seeking to have their registrations suspended.
