Since it opened in 2006, the Moshannon Valley Correctional Center has been a large part of the surrounding economy.
Sadly, Clearfield County Commissioner John Sobel confirmed the prison will shut next week, leaving about 300 people without jobs next week. However, Sobel says they will have help finding a new position.
“The North Central Workforce Development (Board) is an entity that has already approached the prison and is working with employees, giving them opportunities to train, if they wish to go in another employment direction,"
RICHLAND TOWNSHIP - The Hogue's Fun Factory is opening its doors this weekend inside the Galleria.
The play place is located on the second level of the mall next to Sears.
"We were looking for a place for customers to bring their kids to a safe place to play," said Chris Hogue, co-owner of Hogue's Fun Factory.
There are two parts to the new facility - a 20-game arcade and bounce houses in the back room.
Westmoreland County, PA — Authorities in Westmoreland County are providing an update on the investigation into the fatal officer-involved shooting from earlier this month.
On Friday, Westmoreland County District Attorney Nicole Ziccarelli ruled that the officers involved in the July 2nd shooting were justified in killing 59-year-old Robbie Saunders.
Investigators say on the afternoon of Sunday, July 2nd, officers were called to a home along Gravel Hill Road, in Ligonier Township, for a report of a disturbance.
DUNCANSVILLE, Pa. (WJAC) — This weekend, several Ollie’s Bargain Outlets across western Pennsylvania will be participating in a wedding and formal dress sale.
A store flyer says the event started Thursday and ends Monday, Feb. 25.
According to the flyer, the discount retailer has bought nearly 11,000 wedding dresses and 18,000 formal dresses.
The ad says that some prom and formal dresses will be sold for $39.99 when they are regularly sold for up to $500.
