(WSET) — Hammerhead worms have been spotted across the United States - most recently in the East Coast. The recent reporting stated the worm was in Washington, D.C. and Virginia. Theresa Dellinger, an entomologist with the Insect Identification Lab at Virginia Tech, explained that the worm has been around for some time. The Texas Invasive Species Institute reported it started getting reports of the hammerhead worm in Texas in the 1980s.

The Boalsburg Fire Company's carnival is also canceled. Plans call for a virtual, online celebration with live streaming of the traditional events held in Boalsburg on Memorial Day. Johnstown, PA (WJAC) — On Sunday, USA Hockey congress announced that it will require youth hockey players to wear neck protection in wake of the death of former NHL forward Adam Johnson, who died after being cut by a skate blade during a game in England. In a move that intends to put safety first, USA Hockey is requiring youth hockey players to wear neck laceration protection in all age classifications except adult.
PLAINVIEW, Texas (CITC) — A community is outraged over a Texas school district's response to what they feel was a case of sexual assault among first-grade students. Parents allege that a female 6-year-old student in the Plainview Independent School District (Plainview ISD) was recorded on an iPad while being forced to perform a sexual act on a male classmate last month. Once the incident was reported, the video was reviewed with the assistance of local law enforcement and FBI.
