Woman charged in fatal Altoona fire claims to be a 'witch' & 'Egyptian Goddess'

UPDATE | BLAIR COUNTY, Pa. (WJAC) — Authorities have released new details about what led to the arrest of an Altoona woman for her role in a fatal fire last February. On Tuesday, police filed a multitude of charges against 43-year-old Heather Evans, including multiple counts of murder and aggravated arson, for setting fire to an East 5th Ave. home on Feb. 15th, 2022. Investigators say the fire claimed the life of 75-year-old Mark Stewart, and also resulted in multiple firefighters being injured while battling the blaze.

17 dogs covered in feces, rescued from deplorable home in Enola

DAUPHIN COUNTY, Pa. (WHP) — The Human Society of Harrisburg (HSHA) is currently caring for over a dozen dogs that were rescued from a dangerous situation. According to HSHA, 17 "small dogs and puppies" were found back in November by HSHA's Humane Law Officer. The home they were living in was revealed to have been a house in Enola. Acting quickly, HSHA has already began treating them as their matted fur, also found to be covered in feces, requires special attention.

Pair charged after marijuana, meth, heroin & guns found inside Clearfield home

Clearfield Co., PA (WJAC) — Authorities with the Lawrence Township Police Department say a man and a woman are facing charges after police found numerous drugs and guns inside a Clearfield County home. Police say on Thursday, October 27, authorities were dispatched to a residence along Clark Street to assist State Parole officers with a home check of 23-year-old Gabrielle Reffett. Police say a search of the home led to the seizure of marijuana, methamphetamine, heroin, fentanyl, two handguns and drug paraphernalia.
