Maggi's "inspirational" story began in the spring when he made his MLB debut on April 26th after spending 13 years in the minor leagues. The following day, Maggi made his first career big-league start against the Los Angeles Dodgers. Then, a few days later, in a rain-out/make-up doubleheader, Maggi recorded his first career MLB hit and RBI against the Washington Nationals.

ALTOONA, Pa. (WJAC) — A Bellwood-Antis school board member is facing a slew of charges after police say a traffic stop led to the discovery of drugs, rifles and cash. Thirty-three-year-old Jason Lynn, of Bellwood, is facing felony charges related to drug manufacturing and delivery along with receiving stolen property. According to a criminal complaint, Altoona police initiated a traffic stop on Saturday along Broad Avenue for a vehicle with a brake light out.

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (TND) — Missouri state Rep. Ben Baker, R-Neosho, said Friday his daughter and her husband were killed during a mission trip to Haiti. Rep. Baker wrote in a Facebook post that Davy and Natalie Lloyd were both killed during an attack by a Haitian gang. The couple was working on behalf of Missions In Haiti, an Oklahoma-based Christian organization, which reports a third missionary named Jude was also killed during the ambush.
