In a stop in downtown Bedford, Governor Josh Shapiro announced $7 million in grant money is headed toward helping fund nearly 50 projects on main streets across the state, including three future projects in Bedford County. The specifics of what the money will be used for is not known right now, and that is because it will be up to local officials in the communities receiving the funding according to officials.

Meyersdale woman charged following drug investigation in Somerset Co.

Somerset Co., PA (WJAC) — Acting Somerset County District Attorney Molly Metzgar announced charges against a Meyersdale woman following a drug investigation in Somerset County. Authorities say Kelsi Sturtz is being housed at the Somerset County Prison on contraband and drug possession related charges. Police say during the course of the investigation, authorities seized over 150 bags of suspected heroin, numerous prescriptions and a large amount of cash. Authorities say three other individuals, who have not yet been identified, were also taken into custody and jailed for parole violations.
