Former pharmacist charged with stealing, diluting meds from half a dozen pharmacies

ALTOONA, Pa. (WJAC) — A former Altoona pharmacist is facing several charges after authorities say he stole numerous medications from six different pharmacies, then diluted them with water to cover his tracks. According to the attorney general's office, 28-year-old Colt Edwards was working as a floating pharmacist for several Martin's/Giant pharmacies throughout central Pennsylvania. Authorities say they were notified by the grocery chain after management observed Edwards on surveillance video stealing groceries from its E Chestnut Avenue location.

Local teen helps organize Easter egg hunt for kids with special needs

JOHNSTOWN, Pa. (WJAC) — An Easter egg hunt for children with special needs was held in Johnstown on Sunday. Johnstown's Moneyman team helped organize the egg hunt for the second year at Sargent’s Stadium, but they say the idea came from someone else. 18-year-old Dylan Laverty says the event is "a long time coming." He says he thought of the idea as a fourth grader and last year was able to bring it to Moneyman.

Victims of Wilkinsburg shooting identified

WILKINSBURG, Pa. -- Five people are confirmed dead and another three are injured after a shooting in a neighborhood outside of Pittsburgh just before 11 p.m. Wednesday. The incident happened on the 1300 block of Franklin Avenue in Wilkinsburg during some sort of party or cookout in the backyard. Three women and one man were killed and pronounced dead at the scene, authorities said. Three others were taken from the scene in ambulances and one of them died at the hospital.
