JOHNSTOWN, Pa. (WJAC) — With rising COVID-19 case numbers, schools across the region are adjusting their plans and schedules to stop the spread. In Cambria County, University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown is moving to a shelter in place. This is to mitigate the spread of COVID-19 before students return home for winter break.
The university described the shelter in place policy as a way to stop the spread of COVID-19 before the holidays, when majority of their students return home.
UPDATE | ALTOONA, Pa. (WJAC) — Altoona police are providing new details about the investigation into a New Year's Day shots fired incident that led to the arrests of four teenagers, and authorities searching for a fifth suspect.
On Thursday, police charged Domenico Pezzuti, Eli Rodgers, Hezikiah Stehley, Imeen Whitaker, and Ezekiel Williams, all age 16, in connection to the incident.
According to the affidavit, police were dispatched early New Year's Day morning for reports of several shots being fired in the area of 4th Street and 7th Avenue.

NEW PARIS, Pa. (WJAC) — The start of fall has been particularly warm and sunny the past couple of weeks, giving people great weather to go out and enjoy fall activities.
Six News visited Boyer Orchard in Bedford County, where apple-growing season is almost complete. One of the owners says the sunny weather has given their apples an even sweeter taste.

HARRISBURG, Pa. (WJAC) — The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced Tuesday that driver’s skills tests, including motorcycle skills tests, will resume at reopened Driver License Centers.
PennDOT officials say tests that were canceled because of the COVID-19 pandemic will be given priority in rescheduling tests by calling the PennDOT Driver and Vehicle Services Call Center at 717-412-5300.
Anyone else wishing to schedule a skills tests must submit a request in the appointment system beginning June 20, according to a release.
