U.S. Coast guard jumps onto a moving submarine allegedly carrying cocaine

The U.S. Coast Guard released a video Thursday showing a dramatic, high-speed ocean chase that ended with the capture of a purpose-built semi-submersible -- or submarine -- allegedly carrying a large sum of cocaine. The chase and seizure took place in international waters in the eastern Pacific Ocean June 18. The individual, Johan Jose Cardenas Silva, is wanted in Peru on conspiracy, assault and aggravated theft charges, according to ICE. ICE officials arrested Cardenas after his release from Nassau County Correctional Center. He is currently detained and awaiting deportation from the U.

Blair Co. business owner charged for failing to pay over $69K in state sales tax

Blair Co., PA (WJAC) — Authorities with the Pennsylvania Office of the Attorney General say a Blair County business owner is facing charges after she reportedly failed to pay over $69,000 in state sales tax. According to the affidavit, investigators say Melinda Robenolt, the owner of McAbee's Subs in Altoona, reportedly failed to pay the taxes from 2020 to 2023. Authorities say prior to the charges being filed, she was reportedly cited and fined numerous times.
