Johnstown, Pa — Whitewater rafting lovers, listen up!
This weekend marks the 33rd annual Stonycreek Rendezvous at Greenhouse Park in Johnstown.
“It’s a really great whitewater event,” said Michael Cook, the President of the Benscreek Canoe Club.
Cook is one of the organizers of the Stonycreek Rendezvous.
“We have live music, good food and gear vendors,” added Cook. “On average, with nice weather we see about a thousand people come into Johnstown for the event.
WASHINGTON (TND) — A 9-year-old girl was fatally shot in the head shortly after getting ice cream with her father in Chicago, according to reports. The child has been identified as Serabi Medina. Police said 43-year-old Michael Goodman was charged with first-degree murder in connection to the child's death. Authorities said the child was killed Saturday night. Megan Kelle, who lives in the area, told the Chicago Sun-Times Goodman shot Serabi after he complained about noise.

PLEASANT GAP – A new name has been given to part of the Central Pennsylvania Institute of Science and Technology.
The CPI Transportation Training Center was dedicated and renamed Tuesday inhonor of Glenn and Thelma Hawbaker, a couple who began their construction company in Centre County in 1952.
The Hawbaker company first started contracting in State College.
After over 60 years in operation, the family was recognized for its leadership in the construction industry and for its longtime support of CPI.
