Coroner IDs victim of early morning fatal crash in Altoona

UPDATE | Altoona, PA (WJAC) — Blair County Coroner Patty Ross has identified the victim of Thursday's early morning fatal crash in Altoona. Ross says 22-year-old Collie Brown was traveling at a high rate of speed, along the 10th Ave. expressway, when he collided with a light pole and a tree. Investigators say he and a female passenger were ejected from the vehicle. Authorities say the female passenger who was ejected was transported to UPMC Altoona.

Jerry Sandusky transferred to SCI-Laurel Highlands

SOMERSET - Former Penn State assistant football coach and convicted serial child molester Jerry Sandusky is now serving his sentence in another Somerset County prison. Susan McNaughton, communications director for the Department of Corrections, confirmed Friday that Sandusky, 73, was moved on Jan. 8 from State Correctional Institution at Somerset to SCI-Laurel Highlands. “We move inmates throughout our system on a regular basis,” McNaughton said in an email. “This was simply a routine transfer.
