Churches in Johnstown merge and say they are looking to make a difference in community

Beulah Community Church and The Way Church of Johnstown are merging as officials said they now use the same building. The building is located at 716 Bedford Street in Johnstown. "This building has been here for over 100 years, and it has served the Lord well for over 100 years," church member Jim Knipple said. "We want to be able to continue to use this building in a way that glorifies God, and if it means partnering with another organization that has the same mission then fine, that's exactly what we're going to do.

Coroner ID's Cambria County man who drowned in Carrolltown pond

UPDATE | CAMBRIA COUNTY, Pa. (WJAC) — Authorities say a Cambria County man drowned early Monday morning in a pond in Carrolltown. Crews were called just before 4 a.m. The Cambria County Coroner's office says a dive team recovered 42-year-old Eric Bender just after 5 a.m. Officials say that pond is about 10 feet deep. They say Bender lived about 100 yards away from the water. Lees says Bender was taken to Conemaugh Miners Medical Center Emergency Room and couldn’t be resuscitated.

Ebensburg Borough closes municipal building to public due to Cambria County COVID-19 surge

EBENSBURG, Pa. (WJAC) — Ebensburg Borough officials say they’re closing the municipal building to the public because of Cambria County’s recent spike in COVID-19 cases. Cambria County reported 30 new coronavirus cases Wednesday. According to the borough’s Facebook page, staff will still be working, and payments may still be dropped off onsite in the mail slot.
