OVER-THE-RHINE, Ohio (WKRC) — At least nine people were injured after a mass shooting in Ohio early Sunday morning, police said.
Officers were called to the scene outside a Cincinnati bar, Mr. Pitiful's, around 1:30 a.m. to disperse a large disorderly crowd.
While they were trying to clear the area, police say two groups got into an altercation. At least two people involved allegedly pulled out guns and started firing.
An officer fired a shot at one of the suspects, who fled the scene. It's unclear if the bullet struck the suspect.
“This has no place in our city, period,” said Cincinnati Mayor Aftab Pureval, calling the shooting "unacceptable."
Police say all nine victims, who were shot in the lower extremities, have been treated at the hospital and released.
